The Executive Director / Vice President, Technology & Innovation provides the vision, strategy, direction, architecture, standards, guidelines, policies, planning, coordination, and oversight for information systems and technology of Pharm-Olam International in a manner to ensure the effective, efficient and secure operation of all systems.


This Leadership role envisions the company’s strategic direction and future growth and leads all aspects of the company’s technological development. This is a business/technology executive who will be responsible for providing enterprise-wide leadership to establish and maintain a comprehensive Information Architecture/Security and Data Privacy program ensuring compliance and managing organizational risks. The role also works with Executive Management to grow the company using technological resources and an active/practical approach which will support the company’s strategic goals and is a subject matter expert for Pharm-Olam technology. 


This is a full-time, direct hire opportunity for an experienced Technology & Innovation Leader based in the United States. Position can be remote. #LI-Remote



  • Develops short term and long term strategic information technology plans, and operational plans that meet the needs for information systems, processes and solutions of Pharm-Olam International.
  • Develops IT business plans and budget plans that support Company’s objectives. Collaborates with Pharm-Olam’s  executive and operational leadership in the development and communications of these plans.
  • Maintains project controls that accurately reflect completed work against project plans, schedules and budgets, and ensures operating management involvement at appropriate milestones.
  • Prepares/reviews budgets for the department, ensuring that maximum value at minimum cost is provided.
  • Provides leadership and planning to enhance and support data, voice, network infrastructures and services.
  • Establishes critical priorities for the outsource vendors and negotiates the contractual relationships to carry out those priorities. Serves as the lead executive in relationship management and performance assessment of each of vendors under the outsource contracts.
  • Developpes and executes an enterprise wide security strategy and roadmap that mitigates risk through the right balance of security measures and operational flexibility.
  • Establishes policies, procedures, standards and guidelines that enable Pharm-Olam’s IT and security strategy. Identify security vulnerabilities and risks associated. Build an industry leading detection and containment capability that will identify and mitigate cyber-attacks against Pharm-Olam.
  • Participates in the formation and execution of business continuity planning, and drive disaster recovery planning and execution across multiple geographic locations.
  • Manages Security Compliance and Audits .
  • Provides security awareness training, information and education to employees.
  • Participates in the development, implementation and ongoing compliance monitoring of information privacy requirements and responsibilities in vendor contracts and agreements.
  • Provides senior information security direction for various functional areas across multiple locations. Ensures the security and/or IT requirements for assigned business functions or locations are efficiently, effectively met by all involved IT staff.
  • Works in a consultative fashion with other department heads, as an advisor of technologies that may improve their efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Track, analyze and monitor technology performance metrics.
  • Oversees all system design, capacity planning, and changes in system architecture. Maintains current knowledge of technology landscape and developments.
  • Designs, implements and maintains technical security solutions to detect, prevent, filter and monitor threats to the environment in order to provide a defense-in-depth architecture.
  • Develops process to assess security risk, risk mitigation's, and escalation of risks in the environment.
  • Develops information security processes and standards that are aligned to industry frameworks and recommend changes and process improvements including those based upon identified risks and changes in legal, compliance and regulatory requirements.
  • Contributes to the design, development and on-going maintenance of a global Information Security Awareness Program.
  • Hires, develops and manages staff.
  • Translates technical vision, roadmaps and decisions into a clear, inspiring story that enables the organization to quickly align and drive results.
  • Provides leadership in a fashion that supports the company’s culture, mission and values.

  • Minimum of 10 years IT managerial experience in a CRO, pharmaceutical or Biotech industry environment, most recently in a high level, operational management role.
  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required and a master's degree in a relevant field is desirable.
  • Seasoned, organizational leader with a strong technical/ operational background and experience partnering, leading and influencing across departments with all levels of leadership.
  • Able to develop forward-thinking, industry leading vision and strategy to ensure a strong IT security.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced, collaborative , highly matrixed environment, developing a strategy and the organization and a roadmap to achieve strategic goals.
  • Agile, resourceful, adaptable, and results oriented.
  • Enthusiastic about the opportunity to drive change and progress in a turnaround environment. Strong skills in driving effective change tactfully and collaboratively.
  • Executive level communication, assessment, conflict resolution, decision-making and interpersonal skills: a highly effective communication style, articulate and clear in person, verbally and in writing; an ability to successfully interact with diverse populations internally and externally.
  • Ability to travel as needed for this role.
